1990 Honda NSX 5 Speed Manual. All aluminium collectable classic. 27th car built with engine number 2 ! One of the 62 pre-production prototypes which were hand built at Tokigi factory in September 1990. Australian compliance in November 1990 and delivery to first owner on 29 November 1990. I am the second owner, having purchased the car in November 1996, the car having travelled 80, 000 km at this date. Engine is the C30A 3 litre Vtec producing 276 HP in standard form, that's 24HP more than the Automatics. This has been enhanced by the addition of Fujitsubo Titanium 6into2 headers and exhaust, adding 20 HP and reducing weight by 20kg.This engine has always used 98 Octane petrol and Castrol Edge fully synthetic oil replaced every 10, 000 Km. Being such an early car it has the gokart like manual steering. To maintain the excellent balance of the chassis while improving the road holding I upgraded to the 1994 genuine Honda 16" and 17" wheels (and spare). As the OEM Yokohama tyres are no longer imported I have equipped it with Michelin Pilot 3's on the front and Pirelli PZeros on the rear (after some trial and error with other sizes and makes). These tyres are new. The brakes have been upgraded (using genuine honda parts) to 1998 upgrade specs. Honda had upgraded the disc sizes at this time to offset the 150-200 kg weight increase of the 3.2 litre targa-top cars. The flexible brake lines were upgraded to DOT approved braided stainless steel at this time. (This car embarrasses 911s with Brembos under brakes). A/C compressor replaced three years ago. You need good A/C with all that glass! A/C 'in-dash' control unit repaired at that time. In 1990's Honda was using poor quality capacitors in the A/C and entertainment head unit and 'in-speaker' amplifiers, and I have had all of these replaced with best available capacitors. So no squawking radio and hot A/C!
